This customer, himself and engineer, asked us to make this detachable extension

rack so that he can fabricate his own bike stand on it (Please click on this link to

see the Triumphant Transformation). The rack is specially made so that the motorhome

can still tow whether the extension rack is on or off.

The supports for the extension run right under the motorhome. In this instance the

set up was designed so that it could carry a heavy bike while a 600kg Mini Moke

was being towed behind on an a-frame. Towing on an a-frame exerts only a very

light download on the towball.

We would be happy putting an a-frame car weighing up to 1000kg on the towball if

the bike on the rack was quite light, somewhere in the 100 to 120kg region.

If you are not mechanically minded and would like us to incorporate our own scooter

or motorbike rack into this arrangement we would add £100 plus vat to our normal

scooter rack prices, making the cost £400 plus vat for the version with a plastic

lighting board and £500 plus vat for the version with high grade, Britax, rubber

-backed lights, built into a protective aluminium channel.
