Inboard wheel trailer prices Accessories Technical details

Here is just a selection of the many "inboard wheelers" Armitage's have made over the years to customers' exact specifications. The whole point of this configuration is its combination of maximum allowable width and lowest practicable floor height.

Clearly, this is a major consideration for people who are selling to the public from their trailers. The "normal" floor height in the inboard wheelers means you are not towering above your customers  but are serving them from a much more personal, face-to-face level. Having the trailer's wheels inside allows us to build the body as wide as the law will allow. This gives the operator a full 7ft 5in of width to work in, making plenty of room for displaying goods, installing work surfaces or for the customer to fit the trailer out with catering equipment.

In the case of the key booth (the bottom three pictures, left column) our customer's over-riding requirment was a trailer with an overall width of less than 6 feet so that he could comply with the rules of the shopping mall where he had his pitch. A trailer with wheels outside would have given him just 4ft 6 of space to work in. Our design meant that for the first time in years he was no longer short of elbow room.

The trailer with the roller shutter rear was built for the father of a British Formula One driver for use as a mobile workshop. Sadly it is not used to maintain highly-strung Grand Prix cars but as a base for more humble speed machines at corporate hospitality track days.

The picture at the top left shows an 18-foot catering trailer that we built in late 2007 for a regular customer in Northern Ireland who kits them out for his own clients. This particular end user wanted his sprayed royal blue. We obliged. He wanted easy access to the road wheels in case of pucture and one large hatch.

The trailer in top picture, ruight column, was built for a customer who sells hot food and drinks at pop festivals and county shows. He asked for the wheels to be placed behind the body panels so that his customers' clothes do not get dirty. The roller shutter rear is for ease of loading.

Like all Armitage Trailers, the designs for our inboard-wheelers are customer led. Our catalogue of standard trailers is a framework tht acts as the basis to tailor-make the trailer that best suits your needs. We are more than happy to adapt our trailers to meet the exact requiments of your business or leisure activity...providing, of course, that what you want is practical, safe and legal.

Please give us a call to discuss your trailer needs. If you know what you want to achieve, but are not sure how to achieve it we can get our heads together and talk things through.
